About this training program:
This training program is intended for those within an organization who want to create an internal peer advocacy and support team. A Certified Corporate Peer Advocate will be part of this team, serving as a front-line of defense for co-workers and peers who may be struggling with mental health challenges. This training program will prepare CCPA's to create a team, select the right people for the team, and grow/manage the team and its efforts. An advocate needs to be someone that coworkers trust, and who is willing to take this course as a starting point to learn how to best support coworkers and peers, as well as how to connect them to longer-term resources and support services.
You will learn about basic mental health challenges & obstacles, causes, prevention, and treatment resources, as well as crisis/suicide prevention & intervention information. To become certified you will need to pass the Certification Exam. Annual renewal with continuing education is required to maintain certification.
