Mental Health Moment | Re-Birth
Nov 14, 2021The eagle story goes like this... An eagle can live an average of 20-30 years. After that time, it has to make a difficult choice. Die, because the body has worn out. Or.. retreat to a nest that it builds as high up as it can possibly go, where it spends about 150 days. The eagle must tear out all of its own feathers, pluck off its own beak, and rip out its own talons. This is a period where the eagle struggles, waiting for the new body to re-grow. And once it has, the eagle takes flight, renewed & restored, and lives for another 20-30 years! This is a story of restoration, rebirth, putting oneself through a difficult stage of deep and painful shedding of old, to make room for new. We could all benefit from this at various points in our life.. shed the broken layers of our lives that aren't working for us anymore. And then... grow new things, add good and positive and strong elements to our lives. It's a motivational lesson, it's inspiring, and it can be a catalyst for significant change.
(BTW: This story of the eagle is inspirational & motivating, though not biologically possible. Still, a cool story.)
