Mental Health Moment | Looking Forward

What do you look forward to? There's a neurotransmitter in your brain, dopamine, which handles reward & pleasure. It's what makes us repeat things we enjoy. To be happy, we can't have everything. We have to have something to look forward to. Dopamine is that part of our brain chemistry that "seeks" new things to create rewards. Having something to look forward to, whether it's something big or small, helps your brain and makes you feel happier. Whether you're learning something new, or planning something, this is a way to get through the rougher times. What is it that you are planning, or looking forward to? Try making plans, and see if it starts to make you feel better all the way around.
