Maintaining the Certification

The following are required to retain active status as a CMHA©:

1. Annual renewal on your graduation anniversary date.

2. One (1) hour of CE (continuing education) training provided by Center of Training each year.  Every CMHA© will take the same CE classes for the purpose of standardization and cumulative learning - we want the CMHA© certification to be held at a very high standard so that anyone seeing you have earned this CMHA© designation knows that you have gained extensive knowledge and are continuing to learn and stay current on wellness program topics.

Please note that the CMHA© certification belongs to the individual and not to any employing organization.

How to Renew

1. Enroll in, and complete, your Continuing Education Course based on your upcoming anniversary year.

When enrolling, use the same email address you have used so far as your login username at Center of Training for other training programs. If you need your account email changed, just let us know prior to enrolling. Using 2 email addresses will create 2 separate accounts for you and your records will not reflect all of your training together.

2. After completing the 1 hour Continuing Education (CE) training course, return here and enroll in your Renewal of CMHA©.

Year 1: CMHA© Cultural Competency

Prior to your 1-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 2.

Year 2: CMHA© Family & Caregiver Support

Prior to your 2-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 3.

Year 3: CMHA© Building Connections

Prior to your 3-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 4.

Year 4: CMHA© Law & Policy Change

Prior to your 4-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 5.

Year 5: CMHA© Community & Support Groups

Prior to your 5-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 6.

Year 6: CMHA© Funding Your Programs

Prior to your 6-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 7.

Year 7: CMHA© Mentoring & Collaboration

Prior to your 7-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 8.

Year 8: CMHA© Navigating Resources

Prior to your 8-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 9.

Year 9: CMHA© Family Influences

Prior to your 9-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 10.

Year 10: CMHA© Educating Others About Mental Health

Prior to your 10-year anniversary, complete the CE course, and then Renew for year 11.
